Group Play Rules Melvin Park 2026

Basic Rules

Have fun and use good sportsmanship.

Teams Rotate Sides @ six for each game.

Any line calls that are “close” are considered “in”.

Each team will need to have a co-captain.

Each team MUST bring one NEW pickleball so that there are 2 available for each match.

Pay special attention that all team members get fair distribution of playing time.

Teams will have one week to get their match in.

The winning team will contact their captain with scores.

Scores are reported to Renee, or Brad, and all scores are reported to Rodney

If you know you will be out for a week in the summer, please let your captain know asap.

Your first point of contact should always be your captain and/or co-captain.

In case of rain, you will have an additional week to get the match in. Please do your best to keep the original 4 players. Right now we do not have a contingent plan in case this does not work.

Play Format

Women's doubles A team and B team

Men’s doubles A team and B team

Mixed match A team and B team

Captains please contact Brad for team 1 and 2 results, Renee for team 3 and 4. Additionally, report all scores to Rodney - he is keeping a weekly scoreboard.

All play is to 11 points, win by 2 - Rotate Sides @ six each game.

Each Individual Match is Best of Three Games - Win 2 of 3.

The team that wins the match receives 1 point total (not one point per game but one point only for the team that wins 2 of 3 games).

There are a total of 6 points possible each week (see the play format above).

The team with the most points at the end of the season will win gold.

Beautiful Banquet Style Event is Planned for all players at season end. TBA
